Terry is a seasoned and highly experienced executive with extensive experience of running healthcare and healthcare-related businesses both in South Africa and internationally at a senior level. He has almost 30 years of industry specific experience in this field. In addition, Terry, for the past eight (8) years, has been extensively involved in international business consulting across a multiplicity of disciplines and industries including, inter alia, public sector project management, information technology, infrastructure development and, of course, healthcare.

Terry has specific experience in the research, development, manufacture, sales and marketing and deployment of sophisticated healthcare technologies. He also has significant experience in managing and operating pharmaceutical distribution and manufacturing businesses. He has also successfully led international healthcare technology development teams within a multi-national corporate environment.

Terry continues to be heavily involved in the arena of clinical / medical education and is the immediate past chair of the Breast Health Foundation – a non-profit organization dedicated to the furtherance of woman's health issues.

Since January 2005, Terry has been engaged in multiple local and international healthcare related projects and continues to do so. Terry currently heads Healthcare Initiatives, a highly skilled, expert group of healthcare consultants who are capable of providing an exceptional array of advisory services bringing together significant expertise, experience, and capabilities applicable to wide-ranging and various healthcare businesses, whether still at conceptual stage, or in the start-up phase, or indeed already mature businesses requiring to be re-vitalised and re-strategized. In addition, and contiguously since April 2012, Terry has fulfilled the role of Chief Operating Officer for Bunengi Holdings – a leading infrastructure project developer operating across the African continent.

Up until December 2004, Terry served as the CEO of Aquila Healthcare (Pty) Ltd which operated in both the pre-hospital and hospital sectors of the South African Healthcare sector. In April 2004, Aquila Healthcare was sold to Thebe Healthcare (Pty) Ltd, at which point he elected to pursue the aforementioned project-based opportunities and the provision of advisory services.

Prior to being employed as the CEO of Aquila Healthcare, Terry successfully ran the Mallinckrodt Critical Care businesses in the African & Middle-East markets over a 16 year period. Mallinckrodt held a sustained market share of its core business consistently above 85%. Terry conceptualized and initiated many “market-leading” commercial initiatives in respect of pricing and purchasing models with key customers that served to strengthen and entrench market dominance. He also served for many years on several Mallinckrodt Global Strategic Teams, responsible for evaluating new product concepts and reviewing R&D investment within a multi-national environment.

His key attributes include: hands-on experience of running both medical & pharmaceutical businesses at all operational levels; providing strong strategic vision; enabling strategic development and initiation; good communication and customer relationship skills and strong leadership capacity. He is well-travelled and adept at international business. He is fully computer literate, and uses a wide variety of application software and expert level. He is skilled at business-process modelling and corporate strategic-planning. He is an alumnus of the University of the Witwatersrand Business School, where he completed an Advanced Management Diploma program in 1988.

One of Terry’s key focal projects presently is the development of the highly innovative AfricaPLC.com project that is being developed and promoted by Africa Investor Limited. AfricaPLC.com is intended as an e-market platform offering that is specifically focused on specific verticals and micro-verticals within the B-to-B and B-to-G arenas.
